Riding on openers' brilliance, Bangladesh got off to a solid start to their innings in the ongoing World Cup face-off against India in Pune. In Shakib Al Hasan's absence, Bangladesh's stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bat first. His decision proved to be a masterstroke as Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das ensured the ideal start for Bangladesh.

Opening the batting for Bangladesh, Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das started on a steady note, neutralising the new ball spells of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. After getting set, the dynamic duo took on the Indian bowlers, smacking them all around the park.

Tanzid, playing his first game against India in the World Cup, didn't even spare Bumrah, smacking him for a massive six over fine leg in the seventh over.

After keeping it tight in the first five deliveries, Bumrah bowled a short ball, which Tanzid hooked for a six with utmost authority.

Meanwhile, India suffered a significant setback, with Hardik Pandya walking off the ground after sustaining an injury. As of writing, Bangladesh are 67 for no loss, with Tanzid and Litton batting on 41* and 24*, respectively.
