During the one-off Test against South Africa Women, India Women had a slight lapse of concentration on the field as a fielding blunder from Pooja Vastrakar gave Nadine de Klerk a lifeline.

The incident occurred during the 153rd over of the South African innings when De Klerk was fighting as a lone warrior in the middle.

After conceding a boundary on the first ball, Rajeshwari Gayakwad kept it tight, bowling two consecutive dot deliveries.

Coming from over the wicket, Gayakwad tossed it up, luring De Klerk for a lofted shot. The batter fell in the trap as she miscued the shot, with the ball gobbling up in the air for a long time.

However, Pooja Vastrakar, stationed at short mid off, failed to grab a simple catch, giving the batter a lifeline.

Renuka Singh Thakur, who followed Vastrakar, also faltered in her attempt as De Klerk survived.

However, Gayakwad eventually dismissed De Klerk, with South Africa Women being bowled out for 373 in second innings.

Chasing 37, India Women went past the finish line comfortably, securing a ten-wicket victory. Sneh Rana claimed the player of the match award for her outstanding performance in the game.
