In the ongoing first match of the tri-nation series between New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa, the Blackcaps and the hosts locked horns against each other at the renovated Gaddafi Stadium. The visitors, batting first, lost an early wicket, but Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell pulled them out of trouble. 

Notably, Williamson and Mitchell stitched a 95-run stand for the 4th wicket, but Shaheen Afridi produced the magic in the middle overs and got Williamson packing. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf too joined the fun and got rid of Tom Latham for a three-ball duck. 

Haris Rauf Provided The Crucial Breakthrough

On the 1st ball of the 28th over, Rauf got Latham to return to the dug-out after the southpaw gave a simple catch to Kamran Ghulam at mid-wicket. Rauf was delighted after the wicket as he jumped in joy and also lifted Mohammad Rizwan in excitement after the former Pakistani skipper hugged Rauf for providing the crucial breakthrough that brought Pakistan back in the hunt. Haris Rauf Starts 2025 With A Bang

It is worth noting that Rauf was Pakistan's best bowler in ODIs after Shaheen Afridi last year as he took 13 wickets in eight matches and won several matches for the Men in Green. Further, he has also started positively in this series as this tour will act as trial ground for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan will host the event and Shaheen, Haris, and Naseem Shah will be the key stars. The management would be delighted to see their speedstar looking in fine touch. Talking about the ongoing match, New Zealand are 146/4 after 29 overs.
