During India's World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan on Saturday (October 14), Virat Kohli had a solid start at the Narendra Modi Stadium. He didn't convert it into anything substantial, and Babar Azam was the most delighted than anyone else after his wicket.

It all happened when Virat Kohli picked Hasan Ali’s short delivery outside the off stump in the seventh over of India’s innings. Kohli went for a cross-batted shot in an attempt to play it down the ground, but the speed of the delivery did not allow him to get the elevation right.

As a result, the ball went straight to Mohammad Nawaz at mid-on, and the crowd went pin-drop silence after his dismissal.

Kohli knew the shot was not on, and as soon as he hit it, he was ready to walk back to the pavilion. The ace batter came to this fixture after back-to-back half-centuries, but failed to carry on the momentum against one of his favourite oppositions.

However, Kohli's dismissal did not make any impact on Rohit Sharma, who is batting on 49 off just 35 deliveries. 

Chasing 192, India, at the time of writing, are on 96/2 after 13 overs.
