On Thursday, Pakistan took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, securing a thrilling one-wicket win in the second game in Hambantota. Chasing a steep target of 301, Pakistan were down on the mat, placed at 290 for nine in 49.1 overs. However, tail-ender Naseem Shah showcased nerves of steel and played a composed cameo, leading the visitors to a memorable win.

The last over involved plenty of drama, as Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi ran out Pakistan's Shadab Khan in the non-striker's end. Seeing the batter moving out of the crease, Farooqi paused his run up and dislodged the bails. Although it was a legal mode of dismissal, the Pakistani cricketers seemed displeased with the Afghan pacer's tactics.

So, after the game concluded, the visitors celebrated aggressively, with skipper Babar Azam having a chat with veteran Afghanistan cricketer Mohammad Nabi while shaking hands with him.

Hailed for his calm demeanour, Babar could be seen in a very serious mood, being apparently upset with Farooqi's actions. Despite being included in the run out section, Mankading still evokes extreme responses, particularly from the receiving side, as they consider it to be against the sportsman spirit.

Meanwhile, leading the series by 2-0, Pakistan will be keen to accomplish a whitewash over the hosts by winning the final game scheduled in Colombo on Saturday.
