New Zealand explosive opener Finn Allen went ballistic against Shakib Al Hasan during an MLC game between San Francisco Unicorns and Los Angeles Knight Riders when he rammed him for 3 sixes on the trot in the powerplay of the 166-run chase.

Major League Cricket has picked up pace with an enthralling encounter between San Francisco Unicorns and Los Angeles Knight Riders taking place on July 7 at Dallas.

Knight Riders batted first, and courtesy of Andre Russell’s 40 (25) finish, LAKR posted a target of 166 runs on board for the Unicorns.


Finn Allen goes berserk Vs Shakib Al Hasan

While the game looked evenly poised, Finn Allen turned it into a one-sided contest with a sheer display of formidable power hitting in the powerplay. 

Despite losing partner Fraser McGurk early, Allen didn’t change his approach. A 12-run-over from Spencer Jones set the tone right for the Kiwi, and he continued the momentum against Andre Russell to fetch 17 runs off the 5th over.

With 48 runs already on the board, Finn Allen went for the final punch against Shakib Al Hasan in the final over. He slammed an overpitched slot ball over wide long-on to record the first six of the over. 

With Shakib under the pump, Allen went on the back foot to loft another maximum over the long-on boundary rope.

Before the spinner could catch a break, the Kiwi once again used the depth of his crease to hammer another six, this time the ball travelled out of the ground. 

With a 19-run over, San Francisco Unicorns were 67/1 inside the first six overs and went on to wrap up the chase with four overs to spare.

The Unicorns secured their maiden win of the tournament and climbed to the top of the table with a healthy net run rate.
