India are stationed in a precarious position in the fourth Test against England. Besides the danger of conceding the series to the home team, the Indian team are also trying to cope with injuries in the series.

At this juncture, there is a certain batter who is making a case for himself in the longest format of the game. The MI star and one of India's rising T20I prospects, Tilak Varma, has notched up another century in the County Championship. This adds to the already brilliant season he is having in England.

Tilak Varma's Form Continues In The County Championship

Notably, Tilak Varma is playing for Hampshire in the ongoing County season. His team was under pressure in the match after Nottinghamshire batted first and posted a mammoth total of 578/8 on the board.

In reply, Hampshire got a good start but lost a couple of quick wickets and were stationed at 111/2, when Tilak Varma walked out to bat in the middle. Even though wickets fell around him, the southpaw looked resilient and moved towards a well-constructed century.

Before being dismissed by Fredie McCan, Varma had already 112 runs against his name. This extended run of good form means that the MI-star now has three fifty-plus scores in the season in the four innings that he has batted in. On stumps at Day 3, Hampshire were stationed at 367/6.

Test Debut Around The Corner For MI Star

The Indian management might be keeping an eye on Tilak's current batting form. With Rishabh Pant being added to the long list of injured players in the England tour, the selection committee can look to bring in the talented left-handed batter to add depth to the squad.

There are reports that India will be adding Narayan Jagadeesan to the squad for the fifth Test of the tour as a replacement for Rishabh Pant. However, with Varma's batting form, it could turn out that India look to add another batter to their side who is performing well in English conditions.
