Pakistan and South Africa are up against each other in the second T20I of the three match series at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, South Africa. The young Pakistani talent, Saim Ayub has dominated the proceedings so far in the game.
Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opted to bat first. Even though the skipper fell early and Pakistan were put under a bit of early pressure, Saim Ayub did not let the momentum slip. He was joined by Babar Azam after the first wicket and a dynamic partnership between the two got Pakistan going towards a handsome total.
Saim Ayub Misses His Maiden T20I Hundred
Babar Azam was dismissed after a good start. However that did not deter Ayub from his determination. He continued taking on the bowlers and scored a brilliant 98. Ayub's 98 came off 55 deliveries and was decorated with 11 fours and five sixes.
Saim Ayub played this knock after opening the innings and proved himself at the position in this format of the game. It was due to his dynamic knock that Pakistan was able to post over 200 runs on the board.
Despite the brilliant effort from the young southpaw, he failed to reach the three figure mark. With just two runs left to get to the century, Ayub did not get the strike in the last over of the innings. Ayub looked disappointed having not reached the landmark, however he will take pride in the fact that he has put his team in an advantageous position in the game.
