In a concerning development for India, Jasprit Bumrah walked off the field during the second session on day 3 of the ongoing Test match against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. Bumrah's absence scared the Indian fans, creating rumours of another injury setback for the visiting side.

Bumrah Goes Off The Field, Holds Ankle Upon Return

The incident occurred at the fag end of the second session when Jasprit Bumrah went off the ground right after bowling the 92nd over. He could deliver a single over with the second new ball before suspiciously making his way back to the dugout.

As Bumrah went off the attack after bowling just one over, fans and experts became curious about his fitness status. It's a well-known fact that Bumrah has had frequent injury setbacks throughout his career. He recently recovered from a back injury that sidelined him from the final Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test as well as the Champions Trophy.

Although Bumrah returned to the field around the 98th over, he was seen having slight discomfort on his left ankle. He hobbled a bit and couldn't put his weight on the left ankle.

The experienced fast bowler looked unsettled as he stretched himself a bit while fielding at the deep. The footage sparked injury rumours, making the Indian fans concerned about his fitness. Nevertheless, Bumrah can't bowl for the time he was out of the field on day 3 of the Test.

India Battle Multiple Injuries In Old Trafford Test

While Bumrah seems to be battling with a fitness issue, Rishabh Pant has been replaced by Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps after sustaining a toe injury. Ace speedster Mohammed Siraj also struggled with his hamstring, leaving the field just before the Tea break. As of writing, England were 432 for four, with Root and Stokes batting on 120* and 36*, respectively.
