The news that Rohit Sharma had injured his finger during India's World Cup match against New Zealand in Dharamsala on Sunday (October 22) left millions of India supporters around the world's hearts in their mouths.

The veteran put on a dive to stop Daryl Mitchell’s shot off Mohammed Siraj just before the completion of the 11th over, but was in pain for some time immediately after.

How's Rohit Sharma now? Is he okay to bat later in the day, or did he come back to field? Scroll below to learn more.

What Happened To Rohit Sharma Today?

The injury was scary, keeping in mind that Rohit Sharma has been in impeccable form in the current World Cup campaign. The Men in Blue have already been dealing with plenty of injuries, with Hardik Pandya joining the chart lately. Therefore, the moment Rohit left the field brought anxiety to the fans.

However, all the anxiety was gone as soon as Rohit came back to the field. A loud cheer from Dharamsala welcomed him in style as the captain came back to the charge on a mission to keep the Men in Blue on the front foot again.

So, it is safe to say that Rohit Sharma will come back to bat later in the day against a mighty Kiwi bowling attack, led by Trent Boult.
