Yashasvi Jaiswal seems to be at his chirpiest best in India’s must-win fourth Test of the series against England at Old Trafford in Manchester. On Day 3 of the match during the first English innings, the cricketer was caught on the stump mic delivering a hilariously unexpected sledge, leaving fans in splits over his unorthodox banter from close-in.

Jaiswal also made his presence felt with the bat earlier in the game, as the blistering left-handed opener scored 58 runs with 10 fours and a six during his 94-run partnership with KL Rahul.

Yashasvi Jaiswal dished out a hilarious sledge against England on Day 3 of the Old Trafford Test. While fielding close to the batter, the cricketer was seen clapping with intent and urging his teammates on, offering encouragement to the bowlers in a bid to keep the pressure firmly on the hosts.

Moreover, Jaiswal was even caught on the stump mic saying:

“I need some English here. I want to hear some English from you, come on!”

Jaiswal Sledges As England Frustrate With Runs

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unusual but hilarious sledge was directly aimed at the English batters, coming against the backdrop of a tightly-contested series where tensions have often flared and verbal exchanges between the sides have added extra spice to the on-field rivalry.

Nonetheless, England raced to 332-2 in 74 overs by lunch on Day 3 of the fourth Test. While both overnight batters Ollie Pope and Joe Root completed their respective half-centuries, the former was dismissed in the post-lunch session by Indian spinner Washington Sundar.

Washington also trapped Harry Brook for just three off 12 balls as Team India bagged two quick wickets in the afternoon session.
