Did Rishabh Pant Use Fake Injury Tactics Of T20 World Cup 2024 Final vs KKR In IPL 2025?

Rishabh Pant is the most expensive player in the history of IPL, and there was lot of expectations from the wicketkeeper batter ahead of the season. However, he has failed miserably with the bat so far, and did not walk out to bat against LSG. It has increased his criticism, and now in the second half he was seen struggling with back pain at the end of 12 overs.

Rishabh Pant's Injury - A Boon Or Bane For KKR?

The equation was KKR needing 90 off 48 balls with eight wickets in hand, and though Rishabh Pant was in pain and received treatment, he did not look in any pain whatsoever after he took on wicketkeeping again. Thus, it has raised speculations over the seriousness of injury and it could be the tactic of faking injury to curb the momentum of the batting side that he used in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Whether it was a fake injury or not, it worked for LSG, as the KKR lost the plot after that and Shardul Thakur got the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. Ramandeep Singh and Angkrish Raghuvanshi too departed early, and LSG came back into the game after being on the backfoot throughout the run-chase despite scoring 238 on the board.

The same thing happened in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 where Rishabh Pant faked a knee injury, and the momentum turned in India's favour. It would be interesting to see Pant's view on his injury in this game but as far as the game is concerned, it helped LSG in the game against KKR.
