Ben Stokes Ruled Out! Here's England's Playing XI For World Cup Match Vs Bangladesh

In a significant setback for England, ace all-rounder Ben Stokes is unlikely to feature in the crucial World Cup clash against Bangladesh in Dharamsala on Tuesday. As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, the veteran cricketer is yet to recover from a hip injury he sustained on the eve of the opening game against New Zealand in Ahmedabad. Therefore, he will continue to sit out, with Harry Brook expected to fill his void in the English playing XI.

After coming out of ODI retirement, Stokes made a dramatic return to the English ODI side months before the World Cup.

The swashbuckling southpaw also looked promising with the bat post-comeback, hammering 235 runs, including a belligerent 182, against the BlackCaps on home soil. However, an unfortunate injury to his left hip prevented him from participating in the high-voltage clash in Ahmedabad.

In Stokes' absence, England will continue to prefer young sensation Harry Brook for the number four batter's role. Meanwhile, they might slightly tweak their bowling combination, bringing in Reece Topley for Chris Woakes, who looked mediocre with the ball in the tournament opener.

England's probable playing XI vs Bangladesh

Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (C/WK), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley
