Pakistani singer Ali Zafar livened up a near-capacity Gaddafi Stadium crowd in Lahore during the venue’s inauguration ceremony on Friday, February 7. It is worth noting that the stadium recently underwent massive renovation courtesy of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a bid to host several ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches later this month.

Ali Zafar was invited by the PCB as one of the guest performers on the stadium’s inauguration ceremony.

In a video circulating on social media, prominent Pakistani singer Ali Zafar can be seen performing at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on the occasion of the venue’s inauguration ceremony on February 7.

It is worth noting that the PCB organized a star-studded ceremony to celebrate the completion of the renovation of the Gaddafi Stadium, with free entries for all spectators. Massive crowds were spotted flocking to the venue earlier in the evening, as the event commenced from 6 PM IST onwards.

Apart from Ali Zafar, fellow prominent artists like Aima Baig, and folk sensation Arif Lohar were also invited by the PCB to perform for the fans at the stadium.

As part of the renovations, the PCB made several cutting-edge enhancements to the stadium like building expanded seating capacity, premium hospitality boxes with panoramic views, and advanced LED floodlights.

The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be hosting three of the five Group B fixtures of the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, including the high-octane showdown between age-old rivals Australia and England on February 22. The venue will also host one of the two semifinals of the tournament, and will stage the grand finale on March 9 if Pakistan’s political rival and perennial nemesis India fails to qualify for the title clash.
