In a move that may be seen as an effort to boost the morale of the Indian team ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has gifted the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning members a ‘Champions Ring’ to celebrate their ‘flawless campaign’ in the West Indies last year.

As evidenced by BCCI’s latest social media post, the rings were apparently gifted to the Indian team members during the annual BCCI awards a few days ago.

Members of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning team have received a customized ‘Champions Ring’ from the BCCI. On February 7, i.e., a couple of weeks prior to the launch of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, the Indian board took to X and shared a minute-long video of the customized rings up close.

Captain Rohit Sharma as well as players like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya among others were spotted either wearing or glancing at the rings during the BCCI awards ceremony, as organized a few days ago in Mumbai.

Team India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, won the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies last June by defeating South Africa in a hard-fought final. The win marked India’s first T20 World Cup triumph since 2007, first World Cup of any form since 2011, and the first ICC title since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy in England.

As of now, the Indian team players are bracing themselves up for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE. The ‘Men in Blue’ are placed in Group A of the tournament alongside New Zealand, Bangladesh as well as with arch-rivals and co-hosts Pakistan.
