The news caught wind during the India vs. Ireland second T2I on Sunday, August 20th, when the former Irish cricketer turned commentator, Niall O'Brien, diverged from his match commentary to reveal about the incident.

O'Brien recounted Samson's recent outing and stated how special the moment must have been for the cricketer to meet his favourite actor. The Irishman also said that he had watched a snippet from the movie and described it as “wonderful”.

It's no secret that Samson is an ardent Rajinikanth fan. Earlier this year, the wicketkeeper-batsman's dream of meeting the superstar in person was realized. He visited Rajinikanth at his Poes Garden residence in Chennai, a moment he later described as a childhood dream come true.

Sharing his excitement with fans, Samson had posted a heartfelt message, reminiscing about his love for the superstar since the tender age of seven.

Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' continues its stellar run at the box office, having grossed over Rs. 500 crore globally, further consolidating the actor's legendary status in the cinematic world.

Meanwhile, although Samson missed a spot in India’s squad for Asia Cup 2023 squad, he is all set to accompany the team as the backup wicketkeeper, ready to step in if called upon.
