England batsman Zak Crawley has been ruled out of the first two Tests against India. He sustained an injury during England’s practice session in Chennai on Tuesday, 2 February. Crawley slipped on the floor while leaving the dressing room.
In an official statement from England cricket, it was confirmed that the batsman has jarred his right wrist, which has sprained the joint and led to local inflammation.
Crawley, who had an underwhelming tour of Sri Lanka was slated to bat at number 3 in the first Test. He was dismissed by left-hand off-spinner Lasith Embuldeniya in all four innings.
The first Test is slated to begin from February 5.
