Yuvraj Singh to play alongside AB de Villiers, Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara

The legendary Indian batter Yuvraj Singh will be a part of the Icons Series golf tournament, scheduled to take place in Jersey City, NJ, from June 30 - July 1.

The tournament will witness a 10-hole match-play format, and many eminent sports personalities are set to be a part of the tournament. 

The Icons series will be a two-team tournament. Team USA will be up against the challenge of the Rest of the World. Each team consists of 12 players. 

South African golfer Ernie Els, a four-time Major champion, will captain Team Rest of the World. The team will comprise cricketers like Yuvraj, AB de Villiers, Ricky Ponting, and Brian Lara. 

The other players in the team will be Tennis star Ashleigh Barty and footballers Harry Kane and James Milner. 

Yuvraj expressed excitement to represent India and play with the other three cricket superstars in the tournament.

“I’m really excited to join the Icons Series and represent India in the Rest of the World team,” said Yuvraj. 

“We already have a team full of great talent and the toughest of competitors, and it’s going to be nice to actually play alongside AB De Villiers, Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara after years of battling it out in the middle on the cricket field in our own sport.”

On the other hand, Fred Couples will lead Team USA. In addition, the Olympic medalist swimmer Michael Phelps will also mark his presence for the team. The other members of the team consist of American football and baseball players. 

It is the tournament's first edition, and countries like Australia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East are chosen as the hosts for the upcoming seasons.
