We want to win this series by winning the fifth Test and not by drawing it: Mohammed Siraj

Several cricket legends, fanatics and even the players are enthusiastic and excited about the upcoming rescheduled final Test match between India and England.

Right-arm Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been predominantly known for his 2021 Border-Gavaskar series heroics. He always puts his 100% effort and dedication towards his pace and team. He lost his father while he was in Australia, ahead of the 4 Test series, but he stayed on to play. He made his Test debut in the second Test in Melbourne and had match figures of 5-77.

For the 28-year-old pacer, the team is eager and confident that India will clinch this trophy against England at the Edgbaston from July 1, as they have done it against the robust Aussies on their turf.

The last time India won a Test series in England was way back in 2007, under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid. Also, with the team having a lead of 2-1 from the hauled Test series against England, he believes it would boost the team's morale.

"India is already leading the Test series, and I am sure we will win this series. We want to win this series by winning the fifth Test, not by drawing it. The memories of winning in Australia are still fresh, and I want my team to repeat those heroics in England, too," Siraj told Times of India.com.

Siraj, who has 14 scalps in four matches in the current series against England, is upbeat about India's chances of winning another Test series in England. Also, Siraj was India's leading wicket-taker in the recent Test series against Australia, taking 13 wickets in three matches.

"I am really happy that I have managed to perform well for India. My ultimate aim is to take as many wickets for my team as possible and take them to wins. I want to perform well in overseas matches,”

“I know I have been performing well at home. But I get a lot of happiness and confidence when I do well on foreign soil. I did well in Australia. When I got a chance in England, I performed there too. So, I am preparing myself for every condition, situation and format," stated Siraj.

When asked about the Indian bowling department's pace-attack, Siraj believes it is a healthy competition within the squad for the playing XI spot.

"There is healthy competition within the team. Everyone in the team has a lot of talent. This is a very good sign for Indian cricket overall. We have variety in our seam attack. Shami Bhai, Umesh Bhai, Ishant Bhai, Bumrah and I, we all have different variations. I am learning and will keep on improving," Siraj told Times of India.

Siraj talks about Dravid’s impact on the Indian side

He has applauded the coaching approach and methodology of Rahul Dravid, mainly because of his approachable nature.

Siraj said, "He is a wonderful coach. The best part is that he is always approachable. He has solutions to every problem. I have taken a lot of advice from his end. The way he explains things is really amazing. Such a knowledgeable person he is."

The strong and resurgent Test teams, India and England, would be up against each other for the fifth and final match from July 1 at Edgbaston.
