'You can't be serious' - Twitter reacts to Jasprit Bumrah's explosive knock

Over the last four years, Jasprit Bumrah has done many amazing, scarcely believable things with the ball, but on Saturday, in his first Test as captain, the champion cricketer did something that even his most optimistic fans wouldn't have thought.

On the first morning of the 2nd day of the Edgbaston Test, Bumrah stormed his way into the record books as he smashed Stuart Broad for 35 runs (29 off his bat) to register the most runs in an over in the history of Test match cricket.

Stuart Broad knows a thing or two about getting hit for 30+ runs in an over by an Indian batsman. It was Broad, who was at the receiving end of Yuvraj Singh's fury all those years ago.

Fifteen years and 550 Test wickets later, Broad endured another low as Bumrah took him to the cleaners, thanks to some mediocre bowling from the veteran seamer.

Broad kept pitching it short, and Bumrah either top-edged it for a six or a four; in his style, swivel pulled the seamer past square-leg.

In the end, Broad's over read: 4, 4 + wide, 6 + nb, 4, 4, 4, 6, 1

Even if one discounts all the extras, Bumrah still scored 29 runs with the bat, which is the highest any batsman scored in a single over. The previous best was by Brian Charles Lara, who smashed South Africa's Robin Petersen for 28 in 2005.

As expected, Twitter went bonkers!
