England's cricketing maestro, Jos Buttler, is gearing up to lead his nation in the highly anticipated ICC World Cup 2023, which is set to unfold in the cricketing heartland of India. In a riveting clash reminiscent of the 2019 World Cup final, England will commence their campaign against New Zealand. As the reigning champions England shoulders the weighty responsibility of defending their title under Buttler's astute captaincy.

Speaking to Mail Sport, Buttler shared insights into his retirement plans and his enthusiasm for captaining the team in this prestigious event.

"Hopefully, I will continue playing for England for some time. Despite recently turning 33, I don't feel that age. Representing your country is a massive honour, and I don't take it lightly. However, I'm also quite composed about it. I'm excited about what lies ahead. There are still areas where I want to enhance my skills and grow as a player, which is a positive source of motivation," Buttler expressed.

Regarding his future post-international retirement, Buttler acknowledged that T20 cricket has transformed the cricketing landscape over the past decade, and he will need to determine his path accordingly.

"Whatever happens will work out itself. The landscape has changed a bit and there are more opportunities now. It’s just a question of what fits for you moving forward and what’s best."

Buttler emphasized the team's collective aspiration to clinch victory as the World Cup approaches. England's all-rounder Ben Stokes, who came out of ODI retirement, adds to their strength for the tournament.

"We eagerly anticipate the World Cup, boasting a formidable group of players. Representing your country in the World Cup is a thrilling experience that demands our full focus. We want everyone on the team to stay firmly in the present moment."
