Rohit Sharma in nets [Source: @gavaskar_theman/X.Com]
The ongoing Australian tour has been dismal for the India Test skipper, Rohit Sharma, as the batter has faced issues against the incoming deliveries. In the three innings so far, Rohit's highest score has been 10 runs, and the captain is living on a borrowed time.
The opposition captain, Pat Cummins has found different ways to dismiss Rohit and the India captain needs to find ways to tackle him, if India are to win the Test series from here on. Team India were outplayed in the first three days of the Gabba Test match, but just like the previous Australian tour, they rose above the Ashes and made a great comeback to salvage a draw.
At one point, it looked like India could go on and win the Test match, but the rain god had his say as the match was a drawn affair. Ahead of the next Test match at MCG, Rohit sweated it out in the nets as he prepares to get some runs under his belt. However, his struggles continued in the nets as short-pitched deliveries troubled him the most. However, after a bit of hiccup, he gained the confidence and played a couple of nice shots.
Series poised evenly, India favourites to win at MCG
The three tough venues of this Australian tour is done and dusted, and now India will enter the familiar grounds of MCG and SCG, where the Rohit Sharma led side will feel like home. Interestingly, India hasn't lost at MCG since the 2011-12 series, and have won here on the last two tours.
MCG now uses drop in pitches which generally favours Team India as the conditions won't be as bouncy as the team faced at the Gabba and Perth.
