The Indian cricket team is currently in Bangalore for a camp organised by the BCCI ahead of the Asia Cup. The camp involves fitness tests, which were conducted three days ago, and practice sessions.

The squad for the tournament, which was announced about a week ago, marked the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer from injuries. There were reports that Rahul has been named in the squad despite not being cent percent fit,  and is unlikely to be a first-choice in the playing XI. It was reported that he recovered from his calf injury, but during his rehabilitation, he picked up a niggle from which he is yet to recover.

However, in a recent video doing the rounds on social media, Rahul can be seen hitting sixes in the nets. The batter showed no signs of discomfort while batting, and is expected to be fit before India’s opening game against Pakistan at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy on September 2.

The other batters have also been training extensively in the nets. The BCCI called as many as 15 net bowlers from domestic cricket to be a part of the training camp in Bangalore to help prepare the Indian team.
