The Indian team was given a hero's welcome on the morning of Thursday, July 4, as they brought home the T20 World Cup trophy, putting an end to an 11-year-old ICC trophy drought, defeating South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

Indian team along with the support staff reached Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport after a delay due to the weather in West Indies in the early morning of July 4 following a successful T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies where they won the trophy without losing a single game.

The fans and media went to receive the team with open arms while cheering for them with all their love and energy. Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will also be taking some time from his schedule to meet and greet the champions at 11 am.

The players and staff will proceed with the celebrations by reaching Mumbai in the afternoon followed by a victory parade at Mumbai's Marine Drive and the iconic Wankhede Stadium starting from 5 pm, as said by the captain, Rohit Sharma who also invited the fans to join the team on this momentous occasion.
