WATCH: Hardik Pandya’s angry reaction after his dismissal in IPL 2022 Final

On May 29 (Sunday), Gujarat Titans (GT) were crowned the champions of the Indian Premier League 2022. After restricting Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a score of 130, Titans chased down the total with 11 balls to spare. 

Leading for the first time in the IPL, Hardik Pandya amassed 487 runs and took eight wickets.

In the first half of the Final, the flamboyant all-rounder started with an important wicket of Royals captain Sanju Samson. 

Pandya followed it up by taking key wickets of the leading run-scorer Jos Buttler and dangerous Shimron Hetmyer. He finished with figures of 3/17 off four overs and put the opposition on the backfoot. 

When the Titans captain walked out to the middle with the bat in hand, the team struggled at 23/2 and needed a stable partnership. But, with a calm head and composure, Pandya finely steered the team and accelerated the run rate in the latter half of the innings. 

However, Pandya vented anger after being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal in the 14th over. It was a classic leg-spin delivery from the Purple Cap holder Chahal, which stunned the Titans captain as he edged it to Jaiswal at the first slip.

The commentators and the cricket fans are terming it to be unhappiness towards his partner Shubman Gill. Pandya hit a paddle sweep in the fine-leg area in the previous ball and completed a double with ease. Still, Gill denied a triple which kept Pandya at the striker's end and resulted in the all-rounder getting undone by a beauty. 

After Pandya got dismissed for 34 off 30, David Miller (32*) and Shubman Gill (45*) helped the team to sail through and win their maiden IPL title in their debut season. 

It was the fifth IPL title for Hardik Pandya as a player, four of which came while he played for Mumbai Indians.
