Afghanistan cricketer Karim Janat has named Indian captain Rohit Sharma as his cricketing idol. Currently in UAE for the ongoing ILT20 2024 season, the 25-year-old bowling all-rounder expressed his admiration for the dashing Indian opening batsman, and dissected the latter’s playing style.

Afghanistan cricketer and Morrisville Samp Army star all-rounder Karim Janat named Indian captain Rohit Sharma when he was asked to pick his cricketing idol. While speaking with the Samp Army franchise on their social media accounts, Janat said that he like to watch Sharma in action and believes that the dashing Indian opener plays in a very relaxed manner.

The 25-year-old added that unlike many other cricketers, Sharma does not make much body movements while batting and plays his strokes like he has a lot of time at his disposal. He said:

“I like to watch Rohit Sharma bat. The way he plays, it looks like he has a lot of time to play his shots. He just stands and plays in a relaxed manner, without making much body movements unlike others.”

Karim Janat recently crossed paths with Team India when Afghanistan team toured India in early January for a three-match T20I series.

The Afghanistan all-rounder is currently representing the Gulf Giants franchise in the UAE for the ongoing ILT20 2024 season. He is also expected to travel to Sri Lanka for Afghanistan’s three-match ODI and three-match T20I series against the hosts.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, is gearing up to lead Team India in the second Test of their five-match series against England.
