Following their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory, the Indian men’s cricket team is set to tour Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series starting on July 6 in Harare. Shubman Gill will lead a new-look squad that will feature many Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 stars. 

In a video, that is going viral on the internet young players like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, and Tushar Deshpande have expressed their excitement and happiness about the opportunity to represent India.

The second-string Indian side had already touched down in Harare, and in a recent video uploaded by BCCI, the excitement of the players was seen as Riyan Parag revealed he had forgotten his passport and almost misplaced his phone. 

The Assam player also stated that he was pleased to travel with the 'Indian team'. Abhishek said that it was his dream to represent the Indian team, although he added that he was never expecting that he would get his maiden call-up against Zimbabwe.

He also revealed a fun story that receiving his call-up the first person to congratulate him was Shubman Gill.

All five T20Is between India and Zimbabwe are scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The series opener will be played on Saturday July 6, 2024.
