Brian Lara Ditches West Indies' Legends, Namedrops 'This' 41-Year-Old As Greatest Bowler Of All Time

West Indies will visit England for a three-Test match series, with the first game beginning on July 10 at Lord's. It is a special match for Three Lions as James Anderson will retire from the sport after serving the country for 22 years. 

Anderson, who made his debut in 2002, has 700 Test wickets in 187 matches and is the leading wicket-taker among seamers in red-ball history. The 41-year-old had earlier announced that the first Test against West Indies would be his last. 

Ahead of the crucial match, West Indies legend, Brian Lara hailed Anderson's legacy and namedropped him as the greatest bowler of all time. 

“He's the greatest fast bowler that ever played the game. I mean, it's just his numbers are incredible. And he's served England well. I know for a fact that you know, he didn't have that in mind. But I think he's accepted it quite well. And if that's the choice of, you know, the captain or the coach or the selectors, then so be it. He's had a tremendous career. I don't think that he's going to feel slighted by it at all. He's just a tremendous performer. And what can I say? The best in the world,” Lara told Sky Sports.

In the latest events, James Anderson took seven for 35 in Lancashire's County Championship match against Nottinghamshire, eight days before his farewell Test appearance for England.
