Trent Boult impresses Twitter with another spectacular catch against Bangladesh

New Zealand pacer who is known more for his swing with the ball has also gained the reputation of being a great fielder who takes great catches across various positions.

He added another feather in his cap when he dived valiantly at the third man position to take a breathtaking catch from the leading edge of Litton Das’ bat off the bowling of Matt Henry.

Boult’s catch was hailed as extraordinary by Twitterati as they have had a long list of spectacular catches Boult has plugged out in his career.

Bangladesh were 26/2 when Das tried to hoick a back of a length delivery off Matt Henry. Extra bounce from the surface took the ball to the leading edge of his bat and Boult sent him back to the pavilion by that brilliant catch to deny the tourists any chance of recovery with the bat.

In the end, Bangladesh were blown away and the Blackcaps swept the series even in the absence of Ross Taylor and full-time skipper Kane Williamson.

We are not going anywhere if we continue to play like this: Tamim Iqbal on defeat vs NZ

Bangladesh suffered a 0-3 defeat against New Zealand in the three-match ODI series after losing the final encounter by 164 runs in Wellington. Chasing 319, the visitors were bundled out for 154 in the 43rd over. Talking about the team’s dismal run in the series, captain Tamim Iqbal admitted that his side didn’t perform up to the mark but also appreciated the Blackcaps for their successful campaign. "I thought they played exceptionally well. We are a much better team but if we continue to play like this, we are going nowhere. We understand that it is a different condition than back home, but we have to improve a lot to compete with them,” Tamim said after the match. The home side etched convincing wins in the first and third game while overcame a pressure situation in the second match to complete the clean sweep win against the Bangla Tigers. "If you take out the second game, we never looked to be competing with them, which is very disappointing. I said before the series that I had high hopes. I thought we definitely had a chance. We did get a chance in the second game but overall, it was a disappointing series for us. We didn't play well,” he added. New Zealand thoroughly dominated Tamim Iqbal’s side in the final ODI. Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell notched up individual tons in the final clash while Matt Henry and James Neesham rattled the Bangladesh batting order. Henry returned with a four-wicket haul and Neesham scalped a fifer during the course. The two sides will now lock horns with each other in the three-match T20I series scheduled to begin on Sunday in Hamilton.

DC not keen on Rishabh Pant taking over captaincy in Shreyas Iyer's absence: Reports

India batsman Shreyas Iyer’s shoulder injury has ruled him out of the on-going ODI series against England while he won’t be available to take part in the forthcoming IPL 2021in the major part of the tournament. He had injured his shoulder during the first ODI against England in Pune. Iyer’s unavailability has created a huge void in the Delhi Capitals camp as he is the captain of the side and the management now has the task to announce a new skipper in his absence. R Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane are some of the Indian players available for the role while their latest recruit Steve Smith can also be one of the candidates. According to a TOI report, Pant tops the list of the players who are being considered for the position but his lack of experience as a leader is an issue for the management. "Pant is the first name that pops up in everyone's mind. He is the hot property at the moment. But a few in the management pointed out that his lack of experience in captaining a team could go against him. Also, there's thought that the added responsibility could hamper his form," a source told TOI. "There is no consensus on who should be captain yet. There's a faction of the management which is convinced that Pant should assume charge and then there's another which is keen to have an experienced captain," the source added. Delhi Capitals will begin the IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings on April 10 in Mumbai. DC had a brilliant last season under Iyer’s captaincy after they managed to make a place for themselves in the final but suffered a defeat in the title clash against Mumbai Indians.
