'This win will spread more positivity in the squad' - Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav played a sublime knock of 39-ball 51, which helped the Mumbai Indians chase down 159 on an unpredictable surface. It was his third half-century this season and undeniably the finest because it came in a winning cause.

Speaking about the match at the post-match presentation, Yadav said, "My job at No.3 was to take the game ahead from where Rohit left. I am very happy with the way things went. It was an important win, and there was a good atmosphere here.

I have enjoyed batting at all the positions, but I love batting at No.3 because it allows me to pace my innings."

Suryakumar was ecstatic after the victory and felt the win would hike the positive aura in the camp.

“This win will spread even more positivity. We enjoyed each other's company in the nets and at team dinners. It will help everyone learn going forward this season," Yadav claimed.

A mature knock in the middle was delivered by the very young Tilak Varma, who shared a crucial partnership with Yadav and the senior batter was all praise for him.

"Tilak is a fantastic player. The way he works hard in the nets and wants to move ahead, it's good to see someone like that. I am excited to watch him in the next few years," SKY said.

In between, Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about Yuzvendra Chahal. "It was just some sweet banter between Yuzi and me. He is a great bowler, and I have enjoyed our battles," chuckled SKY.

Reflecting upon team spirit, Yadav said, "I never celebrate personal milestones; I am happy if the team wins. But, if I contribute to a loss, I will still consider it a collective failure. It is a positive day today, it is our first victory, and we will definitely celebrate," he concluded.

After this resounding victory, Mumbai Indians will clash against Gujarat Titans on May 6.
