Australia have not been able to settle on their bowling attack 24 hours away from the fifth and final Ashes Test that starts in Hobart on Friday, 14 January. The situation arises due to a rib injury to Scott Boland who might have to clear a fitness test at the last minute to get selected in the first XI.
There are potentially two candidates that can come in with the obvious choice being Jhye Richardson, who will be coming off a fifer in his last Test match. The other choice is Micheal Neser, who bowled well in his debut Test match and took two wickets.
Barring the Boland situation, the rest of the attack is set to look the same with Mitchell Starc being cleared to play the final Test match of the series. Starc already has 15 wickets in the series and has played all of the Test matches.
Australia have already made two changes in the batting order. Usman Khawaja is set to move up to the opening spot while Travis Head will return to the team after Testing positive for Covid ahead of the Sydney Test match.
