Tainted cricketer Nasir Jamshed faces prospect of deportation to Pakistan

The prospect of former Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed securing an immediate release from prison took a major dent. The tainted cricketer was sentenced to 17 months in prison in February for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing in BPL and PSL games. Apart from this, he was also banned from playing competitive cricket. The verdict was placed by an anti-corruption tribunal. Jamshed is due for release on October 21. While his wife and daughter are in Birmingham, he faces the prospect of deportation back to Pakistan.

Jamshed’s wife, Samara Afzalis, is a Birmingham-born doctor. Jamshed was in the UK on a spousal visa which was due for renewal in February 2019. But since a court case was underway, it was decided to put off a renewal decision until the closure of the case. The UK’s immigration authorities have made a note of Jamshed’s sentence. Under the UK law, any non-citizen given a prison sentence for more than 12 months can be deported. An update in the case is set to take place next week and hence Jamshed would be learning about his stay for the coming period. There are high chances of the cricketer fighting his case from Pakistan. The 30-year-old has played 66 white-ball games and two Tests for Pakistan.

IPL 2020 | RR vs SRH: Match Preview, Predicted XI & Dream11 Fantasy Picks

Two teams playing for their survival in the league, playing to challenge the top four in the points table, playing to prove that the Superstars they are carrying in their team are worth it. Rajasthan Royals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in a mouth-watering lower table clash in Dubai. The two teams are coming on the back of two different sets of games, one losing in a super over to Kolkata Knight Riders and the other winning, but against the last-placed team in the table- Chennai Super Kings. However, the last time these two teams met, it resulted in one of the most memorable run chases, where two uncapped Indians of Rajasthan Royals pipped Hyderabad after coming from behind. The fans would be expecting a lot of intensity in this game as well, where the Sunrisers would look to exact the revenge. The English Trio of Rajasthan Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Jos Buttler would hold the key to Rajasthan’s progress in the tournament. The three matches that the team won prior to the last one against CSK, came courtesy Sanju Samson and Rahul Tewatia, the two Indian youngsters. However, Jos Buttler showed in the last game that if in form, he can alone win the game and so can Stokes. Jofra Archer has been good throughout the tournament with the ball and handy enough with the bat as well. It is the cumulative impact that the trio could have, need s to cashed in by the Royals if they want to progress further in the tournament. Hyderabad need to clean the mess Since the Bhuvneshwar Kumar injury, Sunrisers really haven’t been able to fill in an eleven that is complete in all sense. For example, trying Basil Thampi by removing Khaleel Ahmed and Sandeep Singh was something that was beyond explanation. Not persisting with a stable eleven is something that has hurt a lot of teams in the tournament so far, and SRH is one of them. Before the start of the next game, the team needs to find the balance and then persist with it at least for the next couple of games to search for results. Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Match Details Match Number- 40 Date: 22nd October 2020, at 7:30 PM IST, 06:00 PM Local, 2.00 PM GMT Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai Broadcast: Star Sports and Hotstar Pitch Report The Pitch in Dubai has been a lot two-paced at the start of the innings in the last few matches and as a result of it, the teams are looking to chase first. The two paced attitude is helping the spinners in the first innings and also the pacers because at the start there is generally seen some movement with the ball as well. Weather and Toss The weather has been fantastic throughout the tournament in Dubai. Initially, the humidity was high, but with winters coming, l it has reduced and dew has taken its place. There are no chances of rain, making it an ideal condition for playing cricket. With dew and pitch being two-paced at the start, any team winning the toss would look to bowl first. Team News Rajasthan Royals The Royals have now averted all kinds of injuries and are in full strength with everyone available to play. Without experimenting too much, the team would like to go with the same eleven to try and win another game. Expected XI Robin Uthappa, Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson (wk), Steven Smith (c), Jos Buttler, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Ankit Rajpoot, Kartik Tyagi Sunrisers Hyderabad For Sunrisers to experiment with the team, they can bring in Mohammad Nabi as a finisher, but for that to happen, either Jonny Bairstow or Kane Williamson need to go out and that proposition seems highly unlikely. In such a scenario, the changes can only be initiated in the Indian set up. The most evident change looks like Khaleel Ahmed coming in for Basil Thampi. Expected XI David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Dream11 team and suggestions David Warner (c), Jos Buttler (vc), Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson, Ryan Parag, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, Khaleel Ahmed Captain: David Warner Vice-Captain: Jos Buttler
