Middlesex vs Hampshire
Middlesex took on James Vince-led Hampshire side at home in a desperate bid to gain two crucial South Group points. Batting first, the home team put on a moderate score of 142-7 from their 20 overs. Hampshire’s Liam Dawson was the wrecker-in-chief as he collected three wickets, all while conceding just 14 runs from his four-over spell.
As it turned out, the visitors were easily overhauled, courtesy of some clean striking from opener Ben McDermott and captain Vince. McDermott himself clubbed a thunderous 30-ball 83 while the skipper provided finishing fury with his 54*.

Glamorgan vs Gloucestershire
After Middlesex, the David Lloyd-led Glamorgan became the second South Group team of the evening to lose their home fixture. Batting first, the captain himself scored 68 out of the 158-run total.
Gloucestershire batters took a calculated approach in their run-chase with wicketkeeper-batsman James Bracey dousing the Glamorgan bowlers with a rapid 49-ball 63. A few batting hiccups at the end did not stop them from crossing over the line in the penultimate over of the innings.

Essex vs Kent
IPL 2022 cult hero Daniel Sams formed forces with the rest of the Essex attack to restrict the visiting Kent to just 130-9 from their 20 overs. Sams, along with Samuel Cook, Ben Allison and Matthew Critchley, all picked up two wickets each in their tight spells.
Later, the Essex batters chased down the total within 16 overs to claim their 2 points from the match. Number three batter Michael-Kyle Pepper scored 50 from just 29 balls while Paul Walter dashed the tourists hopes with a 16-ball 33*.
