India and South Africa will face in an high-octane game at the Optus Stadium, Perth on Sunday. India kick-started their campaign with a nerve-wrecking win against Pakistan and brushed aside Netherlands in their next game.

With three more games left for India, they'll be eager to continue their winning run against a formidable South African side.

Now ahead of this crucial fixture, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has lauded India's preparation for this match, and has also predicted the winner for this contest.

Speaking with India Today, Gavaskar said:

"This time around the preparations have been fantastic. They came in 18 days before the tournament and spent around 10 days in Perth. Maybe they did not play at the Optus Stadium, but practiced at the old WACA.

To practice for what they are going to get in the matches has been very smart, very well thought out."

The legendary batter also predicted his winner ahead of the riveting battle that awaits us.

"I would imagine the game would be slightly in favour of the Indians. They have been on a roll and have batted well. Against Pakistan they held their nerves, against Netherlands they showed ruthlessness.

For South Africa, apart from a couple of batters they have not been in best of forms and India have the new ball attack to tackle them."
