Shaheen Afridi climbs into the top 10 in latest ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings

Shaheen Afridi's recent T20I exploits helped him climb to the No.10 spot in the latest ICC T20I Players Rankings. He picked up 2/21 in the one-off T20I against Australia, and the performance helped the speedster soar four spots in the  rankings.

The ICC player of the month, Babar Azam, keeps his spot at the top of the rankings, but Mohammad Rizwan, dropped a spot to No.3 after scoring 23 off 19 deliveries.

Apart from these three pillars of Pakistan, Australia's Josh Hazlewood, who did not feature in the T20I match, dropped to No.3, with spinner Adil Rashid climbing to the No.2 spot.

Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee ascended 13 spots to No.38 in the batter's T20I rankings. He also gained 47 places to No. 135 for bowlers and 10 spots to No.10 for the all-rounders.

Apart from T20I's, there were some movements in the Test rankings as well. The spin duo of Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer were the chief destroyer with the ball in hand in the recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh.

Maharaj took the Player of the Match and Player of the Series award and rose to 21st in the bowlers' rankings. His partner, Simon Harmer, was equally impressive in the Test series and climbed 26 spots to No.54 in the latest bowlers' rankings. The wily spinner was the second-highest wicket-taker in the series (13 wickets) and was deservingly rewarded in the ICC rankings.
