On Tuesday, October 15, ICC updated their weekly ranking charts for women's cricket. The teams that are doing well in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup 2024 have benefitted heavily, while the ones that have crashed out of the tournament early on, suffered a demotion in the standings.

Talking about India women, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side had a tournament to forget as they crashed out of the competition in the group stage after defeats against New Zealand and Australia. Despite an early exit, Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh have benefitted heavily in the ranking as they had a great tournament on an individual level.

Deepti Sharma And Renuka Singh Shine In The Latest Rankings

Deepti moved a spot up and is now placed 3rd on the T20I bowlers ranking, just behind Sophie Ecclestone and Sadia Iqbal. Talking about Renuka, she achieved her career-best rating and jumped two spots to sit on the fourth spot.

With the ball, Sharma took four wickets, and her best performance came in the last match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 against Australia where she registered a two-wicket haul.

Meanwhile, Renuka was brilliant for the Women in Blue as she took seven wickets for India in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Renuka delivered what she made her name for and took wickets in the initial overs of every match.

Other Notable Changes In Women's Rankings

Other than them, Shreyanka Patil received the best jump as she moved ten places up to now rank 19th on the list of best T20I bowlers.

In the batters list, Shefali Verma moved a spot down to 12th, while the Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored a fifty against Sri Lanka women, jumped to 11th place in the rankings. Indian women are under heavy criticism for their lacklustre performance in the ongoing tournament.
