In a shocking news, veteran Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was hospitalised following his night out in Adelaide on January 19. Notably, the swashbuckling batter had a rowdy hangout with Brett Lee's famous rock band, Six and Out, earlier in the night before the troublesome incident.

Although what exactly happened is still unclear, the experienced campaigner reportedly had some alcohol-related health problems, as he was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by an Ambulance. Fortunately for Maxwell, he was cleared of any major health issues, joining the national side for training ahead of the West Indies series.

Speaking on the matter, a Cricket Australia spokesperson stated,

"Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information. It is not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan. Maxwell is expected to return for the T20 series."

Maxwell had a stellar season for Melbourne Stars in the ongoing Big Bash League, amassing 243 runs at a blistering strike rate of 173.57. He also contributed significantly with the ball, scalping seven wickets in nine outings.

Maxwell has withdrawn from the West Indies ODIs and could be included in Australia's squad for the three-match T20I series.
