In a significant development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for Lungi Ngidi. Muzarabani joins RCB for INR 75 lakhs and this replacement will be effective from May 26 onwards.

Muzarabani Replaces Ngidi In RCB

It's worth mentioning that Lungi Ngidi will depart for South Africa and miss the playoffs due to national commitment. Blessing Muzarabani, who has scalped 78 wickets in 70 T20Is, has replaced him in the RCB squad.

Ngidi was purchased at a price of INR 1 Crore. He has represented RCB in one match, scalping three wickets for 30 runs against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings.

RCB's most-recent IPL 2025 encounter against KKR was abandoned due to rain. Led by Rajat Patidar, the Red Brigade are set to face SRH and LSG in their upcoming games on May 23 and 27, respectively. However, Ngidi won't be available for their final group-stage match, as he will leave the RCB camp to prepare for the WTC final against Australia.

Blessing Muzarabani's T20 Career And Stats

Known for his ability to make the ball talk at a rapid pace, Muzarabani has been the backbone of Zimbabwe's bowling unit alongside Richard Ngarava in white-ball cricket. In 118 T20s, the right-arm pacer has bagged 127 wickets at an impressive strike rate of 19.3 and an economy rate of 7.24.

With Josh Hazlewood's injury frustrating RCB, Muzarabani could be a potent weapon with the ball for the Rajat Patidar-led side. For the unversed, RCB have already qualified for the playoffs and would like to secure a top-two finish by winning their remaining matches.
