Just when the Royal Challengers Bangalore thought of driving home the advantage against the Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja put Harshap Patel to the sword and plundered him for 37 runs in the last over to take the Super Kings to 191 runs.
Jadeja was struggling to get going and was at only 26 runs from the first 22 balls he faced before the last over. However, his best and Harshal Patel’s worst was remaining to unfold and the left-hander to0k 37 runs on the back of four sixes and a four and brought up his fifty from just 25 balls in the process.
After a decent start by the top order, the Super Kings appeared wobbly after the fall of Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu. But, Jadeja’s swashbuckling transformation from 22-ball 26 to 29-ball 62 changed the overall complexion of the game for the Super Kings.
Harshal Patel is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far and picked up three big wickets against the Super Kings as well before the carnage from Jadeja. He finished his bowling effort giving away as many as 51 runs in his four-over quota.
Royal Challengers will bank on the opening pair of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal to get them over the line while the Super Kings will back Deepak Chahar to produce another match-winning spell with the new ball.
