Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has become the fastest batsman to reach the 2000-run mark in international T20s in the series decider against Zimbabwe in Harare today.
Azam has reached the landmark in his 54th T20I and has beaten the likes of Virat Kohli, Aaron Finch, Brendon McCullum, and Martin Guptill.
Kohli has taken 56 T20I innings while Finch, McCullum and Guptill have taken 62,66 and 68 innings respectively in international T20s to reach the landmark.
Azam has emerged as one of the greatest batsmen among a current lot of batsmen in international cricket over the last few years.
In his five-year long-running career, Azam has amassed 2,035 runs with an average of 47.33 and a strike rate of 129.7 runs per 100 balls. His highest score is 122 which he scored just in the last T20I series against South Africa that preceded the ongoing series against Zimbabwe.
