Chasing a mammoth target of 200 runs in 20 overs, the Lankan side was restricted to 137/6. The visitors had a dismal start to the chase as they lost Pathum Nissanka for a first-ball zero. He was removed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The Sri Lankan side continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 97/6 in the 16th over. It was only Charith Asalanka who showed some resistance and compiled a fifty during the course while Dushmantha Chameera chipped in with a quick-fire 24* off 14 but couldn’t take the team over the line. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers after he returned with figures of 1/11 in three overs. Apart from him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer scalped a couple of wickets each while Ravindra Jadeja also picked up one.
