Quinton de Kock surprised by Lucknow's win after scoring only 153 against PBKS in IPL 2022

Although they won by 20 runs against Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock said it was surprising that they won after posting a mere 153 runs and said the bowling unit bowled well.

This Friday, Punjab Kings lost to Lucknow Super Giants by 20 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium to mark their sixth win in nine matches.

Lucknow Super Giants had a middle course clamp and just managed to put 153 runs on the board, but their bowlers levelled up the game by stepping in and delivering aptly.

Quinton De Kock hit 46 runs from 37 balls and nailed 85 run partnership with Deepak Hooda after KL Rahul's dismissal. Super Giants went from 98/1 to 126/7 due to the failure of the big names, including Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis.

In the post-match presentation, Quinton De Kock said, "Bit of a surprise, to be honest. We didn't have the total we wanted to, but the guys bowled really well. Got a lot to thank them for. They bowled really well, it's great to have that sort of bowling lined up with us at this moment,"

Mohsin Khan, a 23-year-old pacer from Uttar Pradesh, bowled the fastest delivery in the match while also picking three wickets with his variations. On the other hand, Dushmantha Chameera and Krunal Pandya bagged two wickets each for Lucknow Super Giants.

"Couple of bombs thereby Mohsin at the end, it's great to see, but it's not his job to be doing it. It's us, that's our job. But to do it, didn't really want to put that type of responsibility on him. Congrats to him, he had a great game. I am at ease, we play so much, just got to keep soldiering on. That's just what I am focusing on at the moment. Just trying to take it game by game," added de Kock.
