Positive Covid Test report of Haris Rauf, injuries to Hassan Ali and Faheem Ashraf forces Pakistan to hand over a Test debut to Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Young bowling-all rounder is likely to make his Test debut against a formidable Australian unit in a historic Test series which is due to commence on Friday.
After the positive covid test report of Haris Rauf giving a setback to Pakistan and injuries to Hassan Ali and Faheem Ashraf adding to the misery, Mohammad Wasim Jr owns a golden chance to shine on the home turf and make his mark in the world cricket.
Wasim Jr has completed his mandatory isolation of three days yesterday and will be back in the nets for practise ahead of the first Test which will start tomorrow. The unavailability of Faheem Ashraf who is good with both bat and ball increases the likelihood of Waseem Jr's entry in the playing XI for tomorrow. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah are expected to bowl with the new ball and Wasim Jr is forecasted to bowl with a slightly older ball to bring reverse swing into play.
Wasim Jr also has impressive first-class numbers with the ball in hand, he has featured in 7 first-class games grabbing 20 wickets at an admirable average of 24.85.
