Olly Stone bound for Nottinghamshire after five-year stint with Warwickshire

English pacer Olly Stone will be leaving Warwickshire at the end of 2022 season to join Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire sign Olly Stone for next season

The cricketer joined the Warwickshire County Cricket Club in 2016 and was one of the architects of their 2021 County Championship win. He also played for their limited-overs setup, including matches for the Birmingham Bears in England’s yearly T20 Blast competitions.

Stone made his international debut for England during his time with the Bears. So far, he has represented his country in three Tests and four ODIs. However, the last of his international appearances came against New Zealand in June 2021.

After the official announcement was made, the 28-year-old said:

“I will always be grateful for my time as a Bear. Being part of a Championship winning squad is something I will always remember, as was as taking part in Finals Day at our home ground in 2017.

“Edgbaston has been home for the last six years and during that time I’ve fulfilled the dream of representing England. Playing a Test at Edgbaston was a special highlight of my career and I want to thank everyone who has made my time as a Bear so special”, he added.
