The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that IPL will resume from Thursday or by latest Friday after midway suspension of the tournament during the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.

As per the latest reports by Times Of India, BCCI confirmed that the rest of the tournament will now be held across different venues throughout India with Dharamshala being the only exception. The beautiful Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium saw the latest game between PBKS and DC being halted midway will not see any more matches in the tournament.

Revised Venue Allocation For IPL 2025

The decision to exclude Dharamshala came after deliberate considerations by the IPL Governing Council. The close proximity of the venue to sensitive border regions probably influenced this decision.

The suspended PBKS vs DC match is expected to have complete restart, rather than resuming from the point of suspension. However, the final call on this will be clarified after the revised schedule is released in the upcoming days.

International Recruits Returning

The suspension of the tournament prompted the overseas players to return to their home countries immediately. However, with the situation now stabilising after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan coming to effect from 5 PM on 10th May, the franchises are communicating with their overseas players to plan their swift return.

Sources close to several franchises have revealed that primary concern of the players during the escalation of the situation was the closure of the international airports rather than immediate safety issues.

All ten IPL franchises are now working on travel and accommodation arrangements as they await detailed directives from the BCCI regarding the revised schedule. Teams are expected to resume training sessions shortly, with the tournament aiming to maintain its original completion timeline despite the unexpected pause.

Cricket enthusiasts across India and globally are eagerly anticipating the announcement of the updated fixture list, which should be released within the next 24-48 hours as the BCCI finalizes arrangements for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to IPL 2025.
