Mumbai Indians pipped SRH by four wickets and 11 balls to spare in match 33 of the IPL 2025 season at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Bowling first, Will Jacks picked up the big wickets of Ishan Kishan and Travis Head, while fast bowlers Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with a wicket each as Mumbai Indians limited SRH to 162-5 from 20 overs. For the visitors, Abishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 40 and 37 runs respectively.
In response, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav unleashed quick 20s, and Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks navigated with valiant 30s, before Tilak Varma notched up the winning runs for the hosts. Pat Cummins picked up a fighting three-fer for the SRH, while Eshan Malinga picked up two right towards the end but to no avail.
Rohit Sharma Completes 100 IPL Sixes At Wankhede
Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma belted three sixes in his 16-ball knock of 26 runs against SRH in match 33 of the IPL 2025 season. Through the course of his knock, Sharma completed 100 IPL sixes at the Wankhede Stadium, becoming only the fourth cricketer in tournament’s history to hit 100 maximums at a single venue. He joined the likes of RCB greats Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, considering each of the three aforementioned players have struck over 100 sixes at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

West Indies Women secured a thrilling three-wicket win in 46 overs over Bangladesh in match 11 of the Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers in Lahore. Bangladesh batted first and formed 227-9 from 50 overs, with Sharmin Akhter composing a regal half-century. For the West Indies, Aaliyah Alleyne claimed stunning figures of 4-39 from nine overs, while Hayley Matthews and Afy Fletcher picked up two wickets each.
Chasing 228, batters Qiana Joseph, Stafanie Taylor, captain Hayley Matthews made 30s each and unbeaten Chinelle Henry cracked 51* to counter Bangladesh’s collective bowling brilliance.
Fatima Sana’s All-Round Excellence Help PAK Qualify For WC 2025
Pakistan qualified for the 2025 World Cup by defeating Thailand in the qualifiers at Lahore. Batting first, Pakistan made 205-6 from 50 overs courtesy of Sidra Amin’s calculated 80 from 105 balls. Captain Fatima Sana also bludgeoned 62* off just 59 on a tough Gaddafi surface.
In response, Thailand crumbled for just 118 in 34.4 overs to fall 87 runs short of their target. For the hosts, bowlers Rameen Shami, Fatima Sana and Nashra Sandhu picked up three wickets each in the innings.
Dasun Shanaka Replaces Glenn Phillips In GT
The Gujarat Titans franchise has named Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for injured New Zealand star Glenn Phillips for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. Earlier in the tournament, Phillips injured himself while fielding for the Titans.
Shanaka was previously a part of the Titans franchise back during the 2023 edition of the competition. The Sri Lankan cricketer has played just three IPL matches so far. Overall, Shanaka holds a legion of T20 experience with 243 caps, including matches in ILT20, LPL, BPL and over 100 T20Is for Sri Lanka.
