A bowler who is synonymous with Test cricket is England's James Anderson. Anderson, 41, who is England's leading Test wicket-taker and is touring India for the sixth time, is nearing two major bowling milestones, which could be broken during the five-match series against Rohit Sharma and Co.

Anderson holds an excellent record in India, claiming 34 wickets in 13 Tests, which include playing a crucial role during England's 2012-13 2-1 series win, where the swing bowler clinched 12 wickets.

Breach 700 Test wickets?

Anderson, who sits on 690 Test wickets, is nearing the late Shane Warne's tally of 709, which the former could break during the course of the five-Test series, and become the third bowler, and first pacer to breach the 700-wicket mark.

Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan leads the most Test wickets chart with 800, followed by Warne (709), and Anderson (690) himself.

Eclipse Courtney Walsh!

With 34 wickets in 13 Tests in India, the England legend finds himself closer to becoming the best overseas fast bowler and eclipsing former West Indies Courtney Walsh's record.

With 43 wickets in India, Walsh has claimed the most wickets in India by an overseas pacer, which is bettered by Australia's spinner Nathan Lyon, who has managed 56 scalps in Indian conditions, making him the best foreign bowler in India with most victims.

With reports coming in that Anderson might not feature in the first Test starting January 25 in Hyderabad, the stalwart might have to wait a bit more to add a more illustrious feather to his already famed cap.
