Australia are 1-0 ahead [X.com]

Having gained an unassailable 1-0 lead, Australia take on West Indies in the second Test of the two-match series, which gets underway tomorrow and will be played at the iconic Gabba Stadium in Brisbane. This encounter will be played with Pink ball and will be a day/night Test.

A win will conclude a highly successful summer for Australia in Tests, having beaten Pakistan 3-0 earlier, and also won over West Indies in Adelaide.

Australia

Australia heading into the second Test, have a problem with Cameron Green's availability; he has contracted COVID-19, and will only participate if deemed fit. Interestingly, CA has not called reserve batter Matthew Renshaw back from his BBL stint.

Usman Khawaja and Travis Head are both available for selection having to their respective illnesses. Skipper Pat Cummins has already talked about fielding their full-strength pace attack, which will see both Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, and the former will feature in all five home Tests this summer.

Head coach Andrew McDonald's participation is also doubtful after Green tested positive for COVID-19.

West Indies

The West Indies have no injury concerns, but they have bigger issues, like performances from players, that have brought their level down. Apart from Kirk Mckenzie, no other Windies batter stood up against the Australian attack in Adelaide.

An inexperienced middle-order will be tested, where the likes of Kraig Brathwaite and Joshua Da Silva need to rise and lead from the front, having toured Down Under several times.

Debutant Shamar Joseph, impressed with the ball, claiming six wickets in his maiden Test, will look to improve on his show and support Kemar Roach, and Alzarri Joseph in their charge. Gudakesh Motie will also need to bring out his best if the West Indies want to deny Australia a series win.
