ICC Breaks Silence On PCB’s Absence From CT Final
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has explained the reason behind PCB’s absence from the post-match presentation ceremony of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand. Former Pakistan cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram lambasted the PCB for not showing up at the final, even though Pakistan is the designated host of the tournament.
However, according to GeoSuper, one of the ICC members has explained that the ICC only invites the head of the hosts’ board at awards ceremony. Since PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had prior commitments and could not travel to Dubai, no other official was eligible to represent the board at the post-match presentation.
Ravindra Jadeja Shuts Down Retirement Rumours

In the days leading up to the final, several fans and experts had speculated that India’s title clash against New Zealand might well be the last ODI match of Jadeja’s career. A veteran of 204 ODIs, it is worth noting that the blistering left-handed batter notched up the winning runs for India in the final at the Dubai International Stadium.

The apex body named five Indians in the line-up, namely Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, Varun Chakravarthy and fast bowler Mohammed Shami. The ICC appointed New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner as captain of the team, which also includes Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips and the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, Matt Henry, as other ‘Black Caps’ players.
With finalists India and New Zealand alone constituting for nine cricketers in the playing XI, Afghanistan stars Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai also made a cut into the team.
Fulmali Blitzkrieg In Vain As Harmanpreet Kaur’s MI Pip Giants
Mumbai Indians held off Gujarat Giants’ late resistance to walk away with a nine-run win in match 19 of the WPL 2025 season at the Brabourne Stadium. Batting first, Mumbai Indians charted 179-6 from 20 overs, with captain Harmanpreet Kaur belting 54 off those runs off just 33 deliveries with nine boundaries. Amanjot Kaur also clubbed a fiery 15-ball 27 while firebrand wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia made 13 from four balls in the slog overs.
In response, the Gujarat Giants slipped to 54-4, and eventually to 92-6, before number seven batter Bharti Fulmali muscled 61 runs from just 25 deliveries with eight boundaries and four burgeoning maximums. However, Fulmali’s batting mayhem merely delayed the inevitable as Hayley Matthews (3-38), Amelia Kerr (3-34) and Shabnim Ismail (2-17) folded up the Giants for just 170.
