Former India pacer Irfan Pathan is the new addition to the list of the players testing positive for COVID-19 who featured in Road Safety World Series. Sachin Tendulkar, Badrinath and Yusuf Pathan had been tested positive earlier. Irfan is the fourth player from the India Legends team to be added in this list.
Irfan took to social media and revealed the news. The left-arm fast bowler further said that he has isolated himself and has quarantined at home. “I have tested positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms and have isolated myself and quarantined at home. I would request those who came in contact with me in the recent past to please get themselves tested,” said Irfan.
Irfan urged everyone to wear masks and maintain social distancing as precautionary measures.
“Urging all to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Wishing you all good health,” he added.
The tournament that was held in Raipur allowed the spectators to be present in the stands. The crowd at the stadium was mostly seen without masks.
Indian Legends won the tournament after beating Sri Lankan Legends in the final of the tournament. After riding on some aggressive batting from Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf, India posted 181/4 in 20 overs. The hosts then restricted Sri Lanka to 167/7 after the Pathan brothers shared four wickets among themselves. Sanath Jayasuriya top-scored for the Sri Lankan team with 43 off 35.
